Yangon, 13th September 2020 – uab bank confirms that a second employee at Head Office has been infected with coronavirus. In a finding issued by the MOHS on 13th September 2020 at 08:00 PM, an employee of uab bank was found to be a COVID-19 confirmed patient.
The employee had been tested on 12th September 2020 and the Bank is informed of the confirmation on 13th September. We will make a report to the Township General Administration Office. The Bank will provide the employee and her family with the necessary support.
The employee has been working in the uab bank’s Head Office, uab Tower @ Times City, and with no customer contact. She also has been on “Work from Home” duty with the last day in the office on 4th September 2020. In the meantime, we have already conducted contact tracing with all employees and other parties and informed them to stay in Quarantine starting from the day of the MOHS announcement.
With the report of the two (2) cases, the Bank’s Head Office has now instituted steps for some of its Departments to work from home and leveraging the power of technology to communicate for day-to-day operations of the Bank.
Once this pandemic started in March 2020, uab bank activated its Business Continuity Plan (BCP) and formed a Crisis Control Unit (CCU). With this 2nd wave of pandemic, the CCU continues to monitor and evaluate the situation very closely and ensures that the health and safety issues at the Bank is being taken care of.
The Bank is committed to provide essential services to the public. Our services continue to be provided albeit with employees on work from home rotations to reduce risk and contact during this 2nd wave.
