A helping hand to the elders of Hnin Si Gone Aging Home Center to take a visit to Shwedagon Pagoda
Elders are many times neglected and their needs often are centered around food, shelter, medicines and social activities. With this in mind, uabians organised to take the elderly at the Hnin Si Gone Aging Home Center to the Shwedagon Pagoda.
(100) uabians from Head Office and (2) uab branches volunteered to care for the 60 elders as they made a trip to Shwedagon Pagoda on 27th Feb 2023 at the early hours of 6.00 am. “We woke up at 3.30 am this morning, eager to come the Pagoda”, one elderly lady told us.
With the support of uab Foundation, breakfast, lunch and dinner for the day was sponsored by uab Foundation and cash donation provided to help with the maintenance of the home. A number of uabians, personally raised cash donations and brought gift items to each of the elderly in the home.
uabians who attended were certainly blessed and it is in these little things that we are learning that we can make a difference.
